In March 2018, our paths converged for the first time in a charming café in Bandung. Nearly five years ago, we were strangers, connected only by exchanged glances from a distance. Despite the absence of formal introductions, we parted ways without exchanging a single word. However, a compelling intuition within me strongly hinted that our destinies were intertwined, and we would cross paths once again. Unfortunately, I had to return to my daily routine in Jakarta.

Three months later, by June 2018, the chance encounter had started to fade from my memory. Suddenly, I stumbled upon a social media profile that I had inadvertently connected with on Facebook. The face of a woman seemed familiar, yet uncertainty lingered about whether she was the same person from three months prior. Conducting a meticulous screening of her profile through search engines, I discovered that she resided in Bandung and was pursuing a medical degree at one of the local universities.

Taking a bold step, I reached out to her through one of her social media platforms. Without formalities or small talk, I sent a direct message that simply inquired, “Have we met before?” To my astonishment, she responded affirmatively, recalling our encounter at the café in Bandung three months earlier and accurately mentioning the specific location. I was taken aback when she mentioned observing me from afar during our initial meeting. What’s more surprising is that she recognized me as the sibling of her childhood schoolmate from our first encounter.

From that moment onward, our journey has been marked by numerous challenges and obstacles. Yet, we have navigated through them, emerging stronger as a couple. Today, as we reflect on the hurdles we’ve overcome, we can’t help but express our gratitude to the Almighty for this extraordinary gift bestowed upon us. There are 8 Billion People, 1 Universe, 7 seas, 7 Continents, 204 Countries in the world and somehow we met.
